Sunny Days & The Bow Belt Tutorial.

Greetings!
My apologies for the lack of posts the past few days, but it's been gloriously sunny here in Oregon. And trust me, we don't see very many "gloriously sunny" days in February. This has been a busy week- visiting with friends, working on some projects, a couples ping pong tournament,  a closet makeover, and joining one of my dearest friends while she tried on wedding dresses (tear).  Feeling pretty blessed.Ok! On to the bow belt tutorial after the jump!

Love a Portland skyline.

NOW, on to the good stuff. The really good stuff. The amazing bow belt tutorial. Around the workplace, we like to use the phrase "just put a belt around it" or "oh with a brown belt and boots..". Belting around the waist, whether around a shirt and cardigan, or a billowy dress,  can add extra color, fit, and texture to an otherwise plain ensemble. But achieving this look with a traditional belt can be challenging, since most belts are built to fit around our hips, not the smallest part of our waist.  Halt! Before you go out and buy a smaller belt, I have a few magic tricks that will enable you to use your favorite old belt right out of the closet.

Ok, here we go.

Grab yo' belt. Place it around your back at the highest part of your waist.
Place the end through the little loop that traditionally holds your excess belt-age.

There we go.

Pull it through until you've reached your desired tightness. Not too tight,  you want to be able to sit down.

Take the tail end and tuck it under the belt.

And stick it through the metal loop. No need to stick the prong through.

Adjust the belt to your desired height/position. It will stay on all day!

Well, this is embarrassing. This is the "husband, please stop acting like paparazzi" pose.

Have a great weekend <3
