Looking forward to the weekend...

Weekends for us are usually Sundays & Mondays.

Well, when you're a mom, you never really have a "weekend" per se, but I usually base my weekends off of Connor's. He just got promoted to a new job within his company, and while this is a huge financial blessing as well as a directional one for him, for Rowan and I, it means more time without him.  So, I've vowed to make out weekends more memorable. Usually, they consist of relaxing, cleaning, and movie watching which are all nice and have their place, but I have this urge to create more memories now that Rowan is here.

So, here's what I'm looking forward to this weekend:

Brunch with my Dad

Zoo Trip

Ikea (what am I thinking?) for help with this little project involving my sardine can- sized closet ( My dilemma was even featured on Apartment Therapy here)

Church and Sunday lunch

That's about all we have planned as of now...anything fun planned for your weekend?

See you Monday

Mothers.

I am blessed to have a few great women in my life. Quite a few. Most of them mothers, some of them grandmothers, sisters, aunts. This weekend was a new kind of mothers day for me in the sense that I am now technically a mother myself (although I haven't done any of the really hard work yet). It made me appreciate my own Mother, and my mother in-law so much more, just knowing the love that I have for this little person inside of me, I now more closely understand the love that she has always expressed to me, and my mother in-law to Connor.

I went to celebrate at Mother's (how perfect) Bistro, downtown with my grandma and my mom. It was so cool to have (almost) 4 generations represented. 2 years ago, for Mother's day, I had our friend Jay take some pictures of the three of us. They so perfectly sum up how incredible a family lineage is.

Happiest of Mothers Days to all you mammas out there.

Fill in the Blank Friday!

1.  My bedtime routine includes,   getting ready for bed, joking around with Connor, kissing Tino goodnight and taking off his collar..I know we spoil our dog, its sad. Talking and laughing, then falling asleep   .

2.   I am   pretty tired lately. This weather we've been having has been a real drag. BUT Connor and I have a date day Monday, and its supposed to be 80 degrees! Booya!    .

3.  I can't stand     pickled anything       because     that smell, it just gets to me. Plus who wants to eat something thats been rotting in its own juices? Not this girl  .

4. My idea of relaxation would be   A perfect cup of coffee early on a sunny morning, with a blanket and a magazine on a front porch with my hubs.

5. If I had an extra $50, I would    Go on a date out to a fun restaurant,or maybe buy some new picture frames to redecorate.

6. The best thing about a bloggy friend is      Well so far I only have a few since I'm new to the bloggy thing, but I always love good community, and thats what I sense comes from these experiences, which I love.

7.  A recipe I've been dying to try is   a good drink recipe. I've never really made nice cocktails at home for myself, and I'd love to get really good at it so I can use that skill in entertaining.

Have the best weekend, and happy Cinco De Mayo!!!

Saturday/Sunday Snapshots.

Well, this weekend was full of great things.  I don't normally have Saturdays off of work, so it was an extra special treat. Connor works Saturdays, so I had the day free to enjoy with two of my good friends at The International Cat Show here in Portland. Yes, I know you've already formed an idea in your head about what said show might look like, and let me tell you- you're probably right.  It was pretty magical-and I'm really more of a dog person.
For the rest of the weekend, we went to church, helped a friend move, had luch with old friends, and enjoyed some sunshine at the park. Here are a few snapshots from the weekend...stay tuned for "What I Wore- weekend edition". Did you do anything fun over the weekend?

Awesome handmade cat figurines to welcome us.

I don't know if you can tell, but this is a lion cat.

Urban Decay "Naked" palette I got with some fun money. Fun makeup tutorials to come!

Pendleton chair. Swoon.

My little Tino. He's crazy.
Hope you guys had a great weekend!!
